Stock Talk With The Czars: 2019 NFL Week 7

October 24, 2019

[vc_row][vc_column width=”3/4″][vc_column_text]Alright, so we are about halfway through the 2019 NFL season and we are learning a lot about the industry and how to educate our customers and followers about different trends we are seeing. Weekly articles about ALL the players who are seeing their stock rise and drop may not be necessary, but we plan on still producing these articles, but start to sprinkle more content onto the site. We also have the NBA starting up and plan on releasing our basketball inventory soon, so you can expect to see some NBA related articles as well. But enough about that.

Let’s get into the Week 7 Stock Talk![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/4″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”3/4″][vc_custom_heading text=”Week 7 Top Performers – STOCK UP” font_container=”tag:h1|text_align:left” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_column_text]

QUARTERBACK

Aaron Rodgers
Sunday gave us vintage Aaron Rodgers. Was it against a weak Oakland secondary? Sure, but it was also without his top receiver Davante Adams. Rodgers put up 429 passing yards and scored 6 total TDs. He continues

RUNNING BACK

Chase Edmonds
David Johnson started the game, but only received one carry and fantasy owners everywhere went berserk. You know who else went berserk? Me because I faced Chase Edmonds in a league and watched him put up 126 yards and 3 TDs against me on the ground with another 2 catches for 24 receiving yards. This was truly Chase Edmonds’ breakout game, and with DJ ailing, I wouldn’t be shocked if Edmonds earned a role in the Cardinals offense. We have lucked our way into having a bunch of Chase Edmonds stuff on the site, and his prices are already starting to go up (though we are still cheaper than eBay), so go grab an auto now before it’s too late!

Latavius Murray
Starting for the injured Alvin Kamara, Latavius rumbled for 119 rushing yards and 2 TDs, while catching 5 balls for 31 yards, and he happened to be on the fantasy football team I mentioned above that started Chase Edmonds. Ouch. Latavius will likely be back to a bench role if/when Kamara comes back Week 8, but Week 7 showed us that he has enough upside to be a capable RB in the NFL. I’m not saying “INVEST IN LATAVIUS!” by any stretch of the imagination, bit if you want to drop a few bucks on a quality RB, you could do worse than Murray.

WIDE RECEIVER

Marvin Jones
We saw it folks! The annual blow up game from Marvin Jones, and boy was it marvelous. 10 catches for 93 yards and 4 TDs (!). He almost had a 5th one, but dropped the ball on his way down to the ground.

Zach Pascsal
Who? Zach Pascal, that’s who! Indy continues to search for a WR2 and Zach Pascal filled that role on Sunday with a 6/106/2 stat line. Will he keep it up? Who knows, but doesn’t hurt to go pick up an auto or two of his. I wish we had one, but he’s a relative unknown and doesn’t have much cardboard printed off.

DeAndre Hopkins
A solid game from one of the hobby’s most disrespected players, Hopkins finished Week 7 with 9 catches for 106 yards and a TD, which is basically par for the course for one of the NFL’s best players.

TIGHT END

Darren Waller
Darren Waller is another player who doesn’t have a ton of stuff printed off, but as long as he keeps on producing like he did last week (7/126/2), he will be one of the hobby’s most sought after players. I shared an auto I picked up of his and my thoughts on our Instagram page. Go check it out and give us a follow!

HONORABLE MENTION

Matthew Stafford
Somebody had to throw Marvin Jones all 4 of those TDs and that someone was Matthew Stafford. One of the best autos in the hobby today, I gotta get my hands on one of his for my PC.

Kirk Cousins
Of course, after I cut him from 5 of my fantasy teams, Cousins has a 2 week stretch where he throws 8 TDs and 670 yards. Cool. I still think the Vikings could be a Super Bowl contenders, which would push Cousins into the next tier for collectors.

Jacoby Brissett
The best move the Colts have made in a looooong time was locking up Jacoby Brissett for the next two years at ~$15 million per. He has kept them in the driver’s seat for a playoff spot either as the AFC South champ or Wild Card winner and the hobby is starting to take notice. Another dominant game like Week 7’s 326/4 TD performance and he could be one of the more sought after QBs in the hobby.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling
He only had two catches, but he made one of them count with an 85 yard catch and run for a TD. The defacto WR1 in Green Bay while Davante Adams is out, the former 5th round back will be flirting with a 1,000 yard season once 2019 is all said and done.

STOCK DOWN/BUY LOW

Patrick Mahomes
The big news out of Week 7 was the knee injury to Patrick Mahomes. The good news is it looks like he will only miss a few weeks with a dislocated kneecap (ouch), and his card value shouldn’t be impacted as long as he can come back as the same guy he was before the injury.

Matt Ryan
It’s been a rough year for the Falcons and Sunday was no better. Matt Ryan got beat to hell by the Rams and the former MVP left the stadium in a walking boot with an ankle sprain. Fortunately, Ryan isn’t know for his rushing prowess so he has a chance to play Sunday, but his best days in the hobby may be behind him. Ultimately, he has Julio Jones and could easily break out for a 300+ multi TD performance at any given moment

David Johnson
I begrudgingly went into detail about DJ’s Week 7 stinker above, and while I still think it is his backfield, I cannot deny that Chase Edmonds looked better than Johnson has all year.

Kerryon Johnson
This now makes 2 out of 2 years that Kerryon Johnson is missing significant time due to injury. Placed on the IR with the designation to return after knee surgery, it looks like the talented RB may have that Injury Prone designation floating over his head until he proves otherwise. His autos and RPAs are seeing their prices drop on our site due to this latest injury.

Melvin Gordon
Gordon came out this week and said the worst thing he could have done was miss training camp. Uhhh ya think? Still one of the league’s more talented running backs, the time off (and the Chargers’ struggle as a team) has been a huge negative for Gordon. I have faith that he will turn it around, so don’t fret!

Will Fuller
Stop me if you’ve heard this before, but Will Fuller is due to miss significant time with a hamstring injury. I waxed poetic a bit about him after his 3 TD performance, but that has come back to bite me apparently. Oh well. Happy I didn’t make an investment in him![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/4″][vc_single_image image=”102227″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” onclick=”custom_link” link=”/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Chase-700×833.jpg”][vc_single_image image=”102229″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_single_image image=”99815″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_single_image image=”100763″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”3/4″ css=”.vc_custom_1571932768376{border-top-width: 3px !important;border-right-width: 3px !important;border-bottom-width: 3px !important;border-left-width: 3px !important;padding-top: 10px !important;padding-right: 30px !important;padding-left: 30px !important;background-color: #f4f4f4 !important;border-left-color: #cbcbcb !important;border-left-style: solid !important;border-right-color: #cbcbcb !important;border-right-style: solid !important;border-top-color: #cbcbcb !important;border-top-style: solid !important;border-bottom-color: #cbcbcb !important;border-bottom-style: solid !important;}”][vc_column_text]Please give us a follow and join our community on Facebook and Instagram and don’t forget to check back as we continue to add new inventory to www.cardsczar.com[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/4″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
